Fantasy Update – Week 7
Both teams won this week!
BassBall Fever
BassBall Fever won 6-3, mainly with hitting. Picking up Stephen Vogt when Jonathan Lucroy went down has really helped. He added a home run, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Martin Prado also had a big week, with a home run, 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored. The MVP for this week, though, goes to Joe Mauer. Mauer finished the week with a home run, 5 RBIs, 5 runs scored, and a stolen base.
The pitching was pretty solid, but did not win many points. If Peralta would have been able to go 5 innings, he would have gotten the win, but it was better for the Brewers that he come out with soreness in his left side.
Brooks Robinson
Brooks Robinson shut out their opponent this week, 9-0. Apparently, Earl Weaver knows what he is doing. The only category that they did not win this week was saves, and they had 7 of them. The hitters were on fire this week. Seven hitters had 4 or more runs this week, and 6 hitters had 4 or more RBIs. Buster Posey hit .409 with a home run, 6 RBIs, and 4 runs scored. Andrew McCutchen hit .450 with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. But the MVP this week goes to Carlos Gomez, who had a home run, 5 RBIs, 7 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases.
Francisco Liriano had a win and 14 strikeouts while Jason Hammel added another 17 strikeouts. Fernando Rodney had 3 saves and 4 strikeouts and Huston Street added 2 saves and 2 strikeouts. Neftali Feliz looks like he may have lost his spot as closer for the Rangers. It may be time to look for a closer to replace him.
