Washington – The Nationals have been living up to their potential this season. They hit the break in fist place with a solid first half. Preseason Prediction: 1st place Current Prediction: 1st place

New York – The Mets had a good first half and went into the break with a 4 game winning streak. They are still chasing the Nationals and they have a shot at overtaking them. Preseason Prediction: 3rd place Current Prediction: 2nd place

Atlanta – The Braves are one of the surprises in baseball this season. They are in full rebuild mode and they still managed to finish the first half in 3rd place. Preseason Prediction: 4th place Current Prediction: 3rd place

Miami – The Marlins have had a bad first half. They have dug themselves a hole that will be hard to dig themselves out of. Preseason Prediction: 2nd place Current Prediction: 4th place

Philadelphia – The Phillies have the worst record in baseball. They lost 5 straight to end the first half. There is no reason to think that they will improve this season. Preseason Prediction: 5th place Current Prediction: 5th place

NL Central

Pittsburgh – The Pirates are playing very well this season. They beat the Cardinals 3 straight times to end the first half on a high note. They are hoping to take that momentum and finish the season strong. Preseason Prediction: tied for 3rd place Current Prediction: 1st place

St. Louis – The Cardinals are flying high with the best record in baseball at the All Star break. They lost their last 3 games against the second place Pirates, which could carry over to the second half. Preseason Prediction: 2nd place Current Prediction: 2nd place

Milwaukee – The Brewers started the season with a nightmare April, only winning 5 games in the month. They have shown signs of life, and if they continue to improve, it is possible for them to reach the playoffs. Prediction: 1st place Current Prediction: 3rd place

Chicago – The Cubs had a great first half. They have been getting great production form their young players. The biggest concern is that they will fade as the season goes on. Preseason Prediction: 5th place Current Prediction: 4th place

Cincinnatti – The Reds have not played well this season. They are hoping to have a better second half and possibly be a threat to get a Wild Card spot. Preseason Prediction: Tied for 3rd place Current Prediction: 5th place

NL West

Los Angeles – The Dodgers are playing as advertised. They have the third best record in the National League and have a 4.5 game lead over the Giants. They are looking to finish strong behind their great pitching and timely hitting. Preseason Prediction: 1st place Current Prediction: 1st Place

San Francisco – The Giants are following up the World Series Championship season with a solid season. They are currently in second place, but they need to improve quite a bit to get into the playoffs. Preseason Prediction: 3rd place Current Prediction: 2nd place

San Diego – The Padres have been a disappointment this season after the big splashes they made in the off season. They need to need to pick it up soon if they want to have a shot at the playoffs. Preseason Prediction: 2nd place Current Prediction: 3rd place

Arizona – The Diamondbacks have had a decent first half. They went into the break with a 3 game losing streak, though. It will be hard for them to claw their way into the playoff picture. Preseason Prediction: 5th place Current Prediction: 4th place

Colorado – The Rockies have not been playing well at all. Unfortunately, it does not look like they will get any better in the second half. Preseason Prediction: 4th place Current Prediction: 5th place
