Fantasy Update – Week 8
Neither team lost this week.
BassBall Fever
BassBall Fever tied 5-5. The pitching was solid, except for strikeouts. The batting was almost enough for a victory, winning batting average, but coming up just short in runs and RBIs. Steven Vogt hit .400 with a home run, 5 RBIs, and 3 runs scored.
The pitching carried the team this week, taking wins, saves, ERA, and WHIP. Greg Holland was the only pitcher over 1.20 WHIP this week.
Brooks Robinson
Brooks Robinson came out ahead, 5-4. Hitting was the strong point this week, winning runs, home runs, stolen bases, batting average, and tying in RBIs. On the pitching side, the relievers came home with the saves, but everything else went to the opponent.
Josh Donaldson had a monster week. He hit .440 with 6 home runs, 11 RBIs, and 11 runs scored. That makes Joey Votto’s 2 home runs, 3 RBIs, and 5 runs score look pretty pedestrian.
Francisco Liriano had 11 strikeouts but did not pick up the win. Huston Street and Mark Melancon each had 3 saves. It is hard to win the pitching stats when your opponent has a 3.01 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP.
